Sharon Silva

Sharon Silva has always had a love for animals. It’s their unconditional love that keeps her going, and when she volunteered her time at the Atlanta Humane Society, she found that love. While she spent her days as the Executive Director of the Buckhead Business Association, she spent her nights organizing fundraising events to support the animals in our care. One day, a little dog in the back of a crate, caught Sharon’s eye. She went to the shelter every day, checking on the dog, and every day she was there. Sharon finally accepted it was meant to be, and soon this little dog was prancing about Sharon's home, providing her that unconditional love. That love is why Sharon is a valued member of our Guardians Circle giving society and why Sharon has placed the Atlanta Humane Society in her will as part of our 1873 Founder’s Society. She’s making an impact on animals in our community today and will be able to continue to impact them for years to come. It was an easy decision for Sharon and when others ask her how they can make a similar impact, she simply tells them, “Find something that your heart is invested in.”
